A fantastically clever piece Ireland.  Arena on ‘Dancehall’

In an empty room, a young girl paints pictures of a perfect future, while dancing to her favourite pop song.
A woman stares at a television set.
There’s a creature in the corner that won’t go away.
What cannot be cured must be endured.
Exploring passages of a life, Girl Song is an ode to the extraordinary details of an ordinary existence. The viewer is thrown into a world that is obscure, visceral and at times absurd.
From the creator of Dancehall, Tundra and Dogs, Emma Martin’s new work is a fierce and multi-layered dance-theatre creation.
Co-production : Dublin Theatre Festival, Noorderzon Performing Arts Festival (Groningen).
Project co-produced by NXTSTP, with the support of the Culture Programme of the European Union.
Produced with commission support from Irish Arts Center, New York City.
