Irish Theatre Institute (ITI) is a resource organisation for the professional Irish theatre sector. We nurture, promote and drive the ambition of Irish theatre and Irish theatre artists from grassroot beginnings to presentation on the world stage. Our mission is to create opportunities abroad and strengthen resources at home for theatre artists, companies, venues and festivals. ITI supports theatre artists at all stages of their profession to make work and develop sustainable careers.
Irish Theatre Institute, originally founded as Theatre Shop (Ireland) by Siobhán Bourke in 1993, was re-constituted and re-branded in July 2006. Following this transformation, the organisation was launched as the Irish Theatre Institute and soon after gained charitable status.
