The Arts Council

City Theatre Dublin has been making theatre in Ireland and abroad for about 25 years. Its productions include Sisters, The Hostage, The Matchmaker, The Field, The Vagina Monologues, and The Cuchulain Cycle, as well as the highly acclaimed annual Christmas Shows for children, written by Eurovision Song Contest winner Shay Healy and theatre director Michael Scott.

Since it began touring John B. Keane's The Matchmaker in 2001, City Theatre Dublin has grown into the largest provider of touring theatre productions in Ireland. City Theatre will continue to develop and investigate new models of touring, providing work ranging from mainstream audience pullers like Mrs. Whippy to boundry pushing community arts paticipatory theatre like Dancing at the Ballroom of Romance.
