The Performance Corporation’s mission is to create daring theatrical adventures that energize, challenge, inspire and entertain audiences. Our work strives to stretch the boundaries of where, how and what theatre can be. The team relishes taking audiences on site-specific journeys to out-of-the-way places, and transforming the commonplace into a realm of dramatic possibilities.
The Performance Corporation produced Ireland’s first site-specific arts festival Big House Festival at Castletown House, Celbridge in 2013. The festival was awarded Best Festival in the 2013 Entertainment.ie awards. The company has produced other festivals and arts events (including the award-winning Bram Stoker Festival 2014) under the title Big House Productions.
The company believes that innovation, exploration, and risk-taking are vital for the health of contemporary theatre. Development work, residencies like The SPACE Programme and support for emerging artists are vital elements of The Performance Corporation’s commitment to this philosophy.
