Féile an Phobail is a festival organisation responsible for organising three major festivals in Belfast. These include the August Féile (a ten day summer festival), Féile an Earraigh (a traditional Irish cultural festival in spring) and Draíocht (a children’s art festival). Féile an Phobail is also responsible for Féile FM community radio station which was granted a full-time radio license in September 2007 and now broadcasts Belfast wide on a full-time basis.
Féile an Phobail’s flagship project August Féile, a ten-day international festival and the largest community-led festival in Europe continues to grow from strength to strength. The August Féile was set up in 1988, to showcase the talent of the local community of West Belfast on an international stage. Féile since its inception has continued to provide a broad range of both international and community events, which have been central in attracting tourists from around the world to celebrate with the local people.
